In her book, Full Moon Feast, Jessica Prentice documents what we intuitively know when we stop to pay attention – there are certain foods that just fit with certain times of year. She takes us through thirteen moons and the stories and food stuffs that fit the particular moon. I loved how she intertwined culture, community and food in each of the chapters, reminding us that food is intimately intertwined with human connection. The recipes at the end of each chapter were simple and practical for the time of year. This is an inspiring book for anyone who wants to find motivation for preparing healthy foods for yourself and those you love.
Jessica Prentice is a professional chef and food activist who has co-founded Locavores.
